Maintenance Employee – Full-Time Position Newcastle Public Schools – Newcastle, Oklahoma
Newcastle Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a full-time, year-round Maintenance Employee. This is a non-exempt position that includes health benefits.
Position Summary The Maintenance Employee will perform a wide range of tasks necessary to maintain the district's buildings, grounds, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Duties include, but are not limited to, general facility maintenance, groundskeeping, and equipment operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repair work on buildings, facilities, and equipment
Operate and maintain power tools and equipment, including mowers and chainsaws
Assist with landscaping, mowing, and other groundskeeping tasks
Perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 40 pounds
Safely climb and work on various types of ladders, including extension and straight ladders
Follow all safety procedures and district policies
Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or designee
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required
Prior maintenance or facilities experience preferred
Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
Ability to safely operate power equipment and climb ladders
Strong work ethic, dependability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Must pass a background check in accordance with district policy and state law
Work Schedule & Compensation Full-time, 12-month position
Competitive salary based on experience

Non-exempt status; eligible for overtime per Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines
