Job Description

Retail Credit Underwriter

As a Retail Credit Underwriter, you will be expected to execute the risk management and credit underwriting processes within DLL, based on assigned authority levels and targets, to support achieving expected loss targets.

Day to Day

  • Efficiently and independently underwrite retail financing customer credit applications through thorough analysis of customer provided information, various credit reports, and other data as applicable.
  • Analyze business financial statements and/or tax returns as required to support various credit decisions.
  • Ensure application adheres to applicable financing options and programs as related to asset and vendor.
  • Collaborate with other departments as required through the credit underwriting process.
  • Work in partnership with dealer representatives in conjunction to credit applications.
  • Positively contribute to individual and team key performance indicators.
    Compliance within provided risk appetite and objectives as required by the business.
  • Adherence, understanding, and familiarity with all related rules and regulations.

**Role includes rotating Saturday and extended hours.

Essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in the field of credit analysis, underwriting and risk management or in the case of university degree some relevant experience
  • Knowledge of vendor programs, score card techniques, online credit system financial analysis, portfolio analysis, in- and external regulations and credit/risk management policies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Execute credit and risk analysis and underwriting activities and liaise with relevant others on subject in self-starting way
  • Ability to communicate both orally and written with other members of the team, clients, and prospective clients
  • Negotiation skills

Desired Primary Work Location: Houston, TX

Applicable Pay Range

$74,261.60 - $111,392.40

DLL is considering candidates in numerous locations. The pay estimate displayed represents the typical pay range for candidates hired for this position in the desired primary work location. Pay may be adjusted outside the projected range based on geographical differentiation as well as for any other lawful reason. Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.

This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
