Summary

The J.R. Simplot Company is looking for a dynamic and experienced Social Media Manager to help lead the development, planning and execution of our global social media strategy. This position sits within the Company's Global Communications and Brand team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy, completeness, and brand compliance as well as deep functional and operational expertise in social media. This includes experience in the development and/or management of a broad social media environment for a large organization with a variety of social media platforms.

Success in this position will include the use of social media to drive awareness and traffic to other owned content for the J.R. Simplot Company, inviting and facilitating audiences to seek, find, participate in, consume, and share content. The social media manager will help strengthen and enhance Simplot's reputation in the communities where it operates by facilitating engagement and awareness of the company's operations, positive impact and social commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for helping implement Company social media strategy, campaigns and content calendars that build engagement and support broader communication objectives.
• Aligns social strategy with our Company brand identity and broader content initiatives.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams and social media managers representing different areas of the business to assist with content decisions and approval.
• Edits and reviews social media plans and content and broader communications materials to effectively execute on project deliverables.
• Assists in planning additional brand-marketing opportunities through a variety of activities, including events, sponsorships and promotions, and other community relations activities.
• Helps create channel-specific social media content for Simplot's social platforms.
• Produces, edits, and publishes weekly content that aligns with the Company's strategic goals.
• Assists Communications and Public Relations Manager in the development and execution of social media campaigns and corporate sponsorship and community events.
• Supports the development and production of photo/video assets to be leveraged across social media channels.
• Researches and analyzes new media platforms, trends and social media industry opportunities.

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Relevant Experience

• 3-5 years' experience in social media and/or marketing and communications for a large and diverse company.
• Demonstrated experience with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube, and their respective content best practices.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
• Experience in creating and implementing successful social media strategies.
• Proficiency in social media analytics and optimization tools.
• Proficient using multi-social posting programs such as Hootsuite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Event planning experience.
• Creative thinking and the ability to develop engaging content.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with influencers and manage collaborations.
• Strong project management skills.
• Knowledge of brand and paid media strategies.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Experience with a large multi-national or global organization.

Required Certifications

Other Information

Demonstrates moderate knowledge of marketing principles and business acumen. Has good knowledge of market research.

Skills: Ability to understand P&L financials and understand and analyze financial data. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects. Strong interpersonal and written skills. Strong project management skills.

Distinguishing Features: Ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally in diverse situations and articulate strategic marketing.
